Sugar Snap Peas

Time to pick some sugar snap peas!  It seems like I always think there will be so many, but by the time I pick them and clean the peas, there just isn't very much. 

The pea bushes are really tall this year!

I thought the sun shining through the growing pea pod was beautiful.

The total harvest so far!  I should be able to go out in a couple more days and get some more.

It is important to pull off the tough string that runs along the length of the pea pod.

After a light steaming (about 3 or 4 minutes), the finished product!  I topped them with a hit of butter and a little sprinkle of kosher salt.  They were a delicious treat - now I just need to plant more next year!
