Imperfect layers and frosting, but still delicious!
"Fixed Up" Chocolate Cake
- 1 box chocolate cake mix
- 1 can almond paste, grated
- 1/2 package instant white chocolate pudding mix
- 1/2 package instant cheesecake pudding mix
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 3 eggs
- 1 cup water
Frosting
- 1 container vanilla frosting
- 1 8-ounce container cool whip
Thoroughly mix all ingredients together, and beat on medium speed for about 2 minutes. Place in desired greased cake pan or pans (I used two 6-inch pans). Bake at 350 for about 35 - 40 minutes, or until cake tests done with toothpick.
Remove from pans and let cool. When cool, slice each cake in half (I put it in the freezer for a little while before to help with this). To make the frosting, simply fold the container of frosting and the cool whip together. Frost in between each layer, then frost the whole cake. We liked this cake best at room temperature.
How do you fix up boxed cake mixes?
